Are we hardwired?

Are we hardwired?

According to Google it’s to be built into a system or organism that is permanent. On reflection I’m not static or permanent. I want to evolve. I have changed. I’m in flux.
My son asked me this morning
‘What is the voice you hear in your head?
I replied ‘it’s me’.

But I realized it’s a new version of me now since my stroke.
It’s changed, it’s different. That may make some people uncomfortable. It’s not predictable or the same.

Maybe it makes us feel unsafe to be vulnerable. I had to have a medical emergency to reconfigure my thinking. I’ve been defragged and rewired. The popular words now are neuro divergent. but am I? Are the definitions given by others helpful or empowering? Do they make life better?

I question the so called ‘nrmal’ even though it’s not such thing.  I’m unlearning and relearning. its tricky because they are a lot of nonsense around us and in me. Maybe becoming a Tabula Rasa wouldn’t  be a bad thing.
